Time is moving so fast, Kyle is already a month old and I never even got around to writing out his birth story. I'll get to it eventually. His stats so far:
- Weight: 8 lbs 12 oz, Length: 21 inches (or close). He still fits in newborn clothes, but they are pretty tight, so I've been transitioning to 3 month size.
- Eating 3-5 oz of formula every three hours or so, with a total of 20-24 oz per day. At night between 4-8pm he tends to eat a ton, wanting a bottle almost every hour. But then he's been going down for the night and wakes up to eat again around 1-2am, and again at 5-6am. He's spending more time awake during the day, usually between 10-11am, that's usually when I give him a bath.
- Things he enjoys: Food! Being swaddled (but only if he's already asleep). Sleeping upright on my or Doug's chest. He does like baths, but cries when I turn the water off, I think he likes the sound the best. He doesn't mind tummy time for a few minutes and has really good head control already. He likes being worn in the wrap, which is helpful when he wants to be held but I have things to do.
- Dislikes: Bright lights, diaper changes, being hungry.
It's been an adjustment for sure, trying to juggle two kids (the hardest part is one being a tantrum-throwing toddler). Katelyn does seem to like him and is protective of him. She only gets jealous when we're holding him and she wants something (like a snack, to play, or read a book) and we can't help her right that second. She looks for him first thing in the morning when she comes downstairs and says, "Hiii Kyle!" and will always tell him, "Bye Kyle" before she goes upstairs to bed. She's been helpful putting his diapers in the trash, bringing me blankets, or handing me his bottle.
